Itineraries

These plans are built for real Bright-area days and plateau overnights — winding-road time, car parks, seasonal closures and energy included — not fantasy “do everything” checklists. Pick the plan that matches your group, then open it for a full timeline, packing notes and what to skip. Print from any plan page, or grab the free practical planner (PDF) / HTML anytime.

Every itinerary defers to Parks Victoria for track status and alerts. Hard walks only appear where the plan names them — and only when official status is open.

Which plan fits you?

  • Half-day Gorge + Horn — first visit; Horn only if the road and carpark allow.
  • Full-day Big Walk — shuttle first; 10.2 km / 4–5 hours one way.
  • Winter snow day — Cresta / Dingo Dell; chains; no lifts.
  • Family falls + lake — Ladies Bath, Gorge picnic, optional Lakeside.
  • Overnight Lake Catani — official Parks Victoria camp only.

If two plans both “sound good,” pick the shorter one. You can always do more on the ground; you cannot add hours on the drive home.
